Happy Thanksgiving from TIYC!

TIYC has many things to be thankful for this year, so we wanted to open up a discussion for members and friends to reach out on the holiday, share warm wishes and their own spin on what we are giving thanks for this year.

This year, we’re thankful for:

  • Ray Zahnd and our incredible House Committee for all of their tireless work this year.
  • The great times had on this year’s trip to the Delta.
  • Wonderful meals we shared together as a club, and in particular, those who helped made them happen.
  • All of our reciprocal cruise-in clubs, and the clubs who hosted us in 2010.

For all of the things I’ve certainly forgotten, please feel free to use the Comments section below to share what you and your family are thankful for this year. If you have a special recipe to share, feel free to include it as well — I’m sure Lynette will be especially thankful for that!

Jim & I are thankful for our family (who all went their separate was this holiday leaving us alone to enjoy the Half Moon Bay Coast), our friends (who have shared many happy boating adventures through the years) and our health (although these golden years are rusting a bit). We enjoyed our first ever holiday meal at a restaurant – just the two of us! Jim & Sandy

My son, Daniel, flew in from Austin today in preparation for meeting his fiance, Linh, who’s flying in to SFO from Saigon tomorrow. They have a layover here before going back to Austin together. I’m thankful she got through all the red tape! Jerry and Daniel & I walked across the bridge to join friends at Peninsula Yacht Club for a great potluck.

Hi All, Heres hoping everyone had a wonderful thanksgiving, we certainly did down here in La Paz,MX, it’s not a spanish tradition but there are enough expats down here to get together and have a thanksgiving buffet style dinner for 200 Marina Palmira.
It’s great to have this site up and running, I had attempted to get onto the TIYC site several times during the year I have been in the Sea of Cortez but could not access it.
It was great to connect with Fred Gibson and his sister Annmarie and her husband Dayton here in La Paz in November for a couple of days.

We are thankful for our TIYC friends and family. My sister and her family flew out from Georgia to be with the rest of the family this year. Looking forward to may cruises, on the water activities and events at the club this year. It is especially good to look back at the rescue of the skipper and crew of the Catalyst and we are looking forward to seeing Kristy around the club.

We are thankful for everyone at TIYC and their enthusiasm for life and good food. We were invited to our son’s house and dined with 3 of our grandkids (4 years, 3 years and 1.5 years old). Needless to say it was lively! Hope all of yours was just as fun!!

Atta and I are truly thankful for all our TIYC friends! We spent our 8th Thanksgiving on Yerba Buena Island surrounded by family and friends and ate dinner with the beautiful bay as our backdrop! My mom and Arianna were with us, but Darya stayed on the East Coast with an old high school friend in South Carolina! Happy Holidays to one and all! Looking forward to our great December events!
