US Sailing Releases Full Report on Farallones Race Tragedy

A US Sailing independent review panel has released the report on its investigation of the sailing accident that occurred on April 14, 2012 during the Full Crew Farallones Race out of San Francisco, Calif. The accident resulted in the deaths of five sailors from the sailboat, Low Speed Chase.

Join us for our first Cruise-Out event – New Year’s Day

I hope you all have had a great Christmas and you will be ready to join us on our first cruise out event – the traditional New Year’s Day cruise around the island.

We plan to meet up at the club house on Sunday morning at 9am.  We’ll have a continental breakfast and then sail out around 10am.  The trip usually takes a couple of hours and then we will be back to the club house for lunch, drinks and tons of fun.

Bring your smiles but leave your resolutions at home, we’ve probably heard them before!!!

TIYC welcomes our newest members, Karen and Bill Goswick.  Their Bayliner 34 “Vigilant III is berthed in the Vallejo Marina.  Bill indicated that they attended a couple of social events at the club and had a great time.  Welcome aboard we hope to see you on our cruises.

Annual Meeting, Election & Installation Dinner

The TIYC Annual Meeting will be held on November 19, 2011.  Regular, Senior and Life members should have received their ballots in the mail.  Please return them to George Knies as soon as possible.  If you didn’t receive yours, please see the JIBE or contact Russ Breed.  In addition to the election of 2012 officers, members will be asked to vote on a recommendation for Life Membership at the meeting.

The Menu is Pork Tenderloin or Salmon, Salad, Pasta, & Dessert
Cost is $15.00 per person with reservation before Thursday, November 17th ($20.00 for late sign-ups)
Those not making reservations will be served last, will risk that their selection will not be available and will be charged $5.00 extra.
