New Year’s Eve & New Year’s Day Festivities
2016 is drawing to a close and TIYC is having our annual get together on New Year’s Eve. This is an informal event and we are planning a Pot Luck this year. For those of you who do not want to bring a dish, there will be a $10.00 charge for dinner. We will start about 5:00pm with appetizers and libations. Dinner will be about 6:00pm. We have a puzzle to put together and watch the celebration from around the world. When the Ball drops in New York we will call it a night and you can go to other events in the City or elsewhere; or you might want to stay on the island to watch the fireworks at midnight. I you have a boat, think about staying at the Marina that night. That way you will there in the morning for the Annual Cruise Around the Island (see John Mohn’s e-mail and flyer). He is looking for boats, and riders to sign up. For the New Year’s Eve event please RSVP to me, at this e-mail or my cell (510-932-3275) let me know if you are coming and what you are bringing (or not bringing if that is the case). Here are some items you might want to consider:

New Year’s Day will meet at the club around 10:30am for coffee and breakfast snacks (fresh Cinnamon Rolls, Bagels (and the trimmings) juice and coffee. After the cruise around the bay we will meet back at the club for hot Clam Chowder, sandwiches, and leftovers from the night before.
The cost for the New Year’s Day event is $15.00 ($5.00 for breakfast and $10 for lunch). RSVP to John for this event and he will get me the numbers. This is always a popular event. Last year we had 7 or 8 boats, and about 40 guests. Let’s try for getting all our members with boats on the water and have a big parade. Remember to bring a warm jacket, or you can buy one from the Ships Store. I have a new order coming in the end of December.
