America’s Boating Course 2/3 & 10 / 2018

Ahoy members,

There will be a 16 hour safe boating class for all members and non members of TIYC at the clubhouse on two consecutive Saturdays, February 3 (Starting at 9:00 AM) and February 10.  Cost is $65 and includes materials ($45 for Power Squadron members)

Please see attached for details and to register.

https://www.usps.org/index.php/sss-home   and select the 3-Feb course.

This class is called the ABCs of safe boating and covers basic boating skills and rules.

Starting 2018 (now), those under 19 years old are required to obtain a California Boating Education card.

This class meets the requirements to obtain this card.

You may think, “I am over 19; I don’t need a card.”  But if you plan to allow someone under 19 to operate your boat while you supervise, you too, will need a card.  So even if you are over 18, you should sign up.

It is very informative and helpful, even as a review.

So go to the website on the attached flyer and sign up.

Any questions, you may phone Rich or Mary Holden at 925 376 7497.

New Years Cruiseout 1/1/2018

Dear Treasure Island Yacht Club member,

Following a tradition, I am organizing the first cruise of 2018 around Treasure Island.

Click here to downlaod the TIYC-NewYears Around TI 2018 PDF file.

We will meet at the Club around 1030 on New Year’s Day 2018, welcome the New Year, meet old and
new friends and club members, sip coffee and eat bagels, and will get ready at the club house around

1130 to pick up crew and passengers. Push off from the dock is scheduled around noon. We should be back between 1330 and 1400 (2 pm) for a delicious lunch of clam chowder and sandwiches.

I am hoping for a significant turnout of crews and passengers. Please refer to the attached documents,

the cruise-out flyer and sign-up sheet. If you are interested in sailing, please return the sign-up sheet to albert@pedrazza.com so that I can plan accordingly.

Again, I am encouraging all members, boat owners or passengers, to enjoy the waters on New Year’s Day.

You may even bring a Bloody Mary or Mimosa! There is nothing better than a fresh sea breeze after a night of
celebration!

On-Line Signup Sheet

Cheers,

Albert Pedrazza
